Case study: Improved heart cover (photo)

We have a new medical underwriting approach for offering terms for Group Income Protection when someone has previously suffered a cardiac event. This is a result of research carried out by The British Heart Foundation.

Previously, if someone had a history of a cardiac event, such as a heart attack, we would automatically decline to offer them Group Income Protection (GIP). However following extensive research, and working closely with our Cardiac Chief Medical Officer, we now believe terms for GIP can be offered in line with the new guidelines.
