Engagement Case Study: Charter.

The company received an opportunistic approach from Melrose at 780p per Charter share. Subsequent to this, US company, Colfax, entered into discussions with the company about a possible higher offer. We met both Charter and Colfax management and pushed for maximum value for shareholders and for Charter to explore every avenue possible.

We then voted in favour of the superior offer of 910p per share (16% above the original offer) from Colfax which attracted 87% shareholder support.
